Whitney sat down with fellow entrepreneur and small business owner Grant LeBeau on the Small Biz Gone Viral podcast, which captures the impact of COVID-19 on small businesses and the people who run them. In the episode, Whitney shared how an increased demand from small business owners led her to create, pilot, and launch a brand new program tailored to help small business owners grow their businesses, even during a pandemic.
Starting in March, Whitney noticed a shift in the types of clients who were applying for her individual coaching program, Take Back Your Time. Her clients had always been entrepreneurial, but she started to see that more of her clients were small business owners looking for help. They needed someone who was an expert in business who could hold their hand every step of the way as they worked to grow their businesses, especially in the face of COVID-19. Along with Whitney’s in-depth experience helping startups, social enterprises, and corporate teams launch and scale new products and services through her innovation practice, Afara Global, she had experience personally adjusting her entire plan for 2020 in response to COVID-19.
As she saw more and more business owners looking for expert help during the pandemic, Whitney responded by creating a brand new program geared towards small businesses. She used the foundational principles from Take Back Your Time and combined them with a brand new curriculum created specifically to help small businesses grow. She ran an initial pilot with a small group to do a final round of finetuning, looked at the outcomes she helped her pilot clients achieve, and leveraged their feedback to finalize the program.
Building on the success of that initial pilot, Whitney publicly launched her Small Business Accelerator in the summer of 2020. The Small Business Accelerator equips business owners with the tools they need to grow their business while freeing up time to enjoy life in the present and leave stress and uncertainty behind. Along with hands-on training, individualized coaching and on-going support, members join a powerful community of fellow business owners who provide support to each other, share their experiences, and collaborate on new ideas.
